Abraham Kuuku Sam is the Head of AI Made in Africa and a Data Policy Advisor with the GIZ
African Union Office. Before that, he was an embedded advisor in Ghana’s Ministry of
Communications and Digitalisation on secondment from the Tony Blair Institute, where he
served as Project Manager for the Common National Digital Architecture and the Ghana Digital
Economy Policy. He was previously an Advisor for Artificial Intelligence at GIZ Ghana and is
currently a board member of the Institute of ICT Professionals, Ghana (IIPGH). Before joining
the international development sector, he spent about a decade in the telecommunications
industry.
He holds an MPA in Engineering and Public Policy from University College London (UCL),
where he was nominated for UCL’s Global Excellence Awards. Before that, he received an
MBA (with distinction) in Engineering Management from Coventry University (UK) and a First
Class degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from KNUST. He is also a certified
Project Management Professional (PMP). Several of his articles on ICT have been published in
the Business and Financial Times of Ghana.
