Solomon Mwije

Solomon Mwije is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Development Policy (IOB), University of Antwerp. Solomon lectures at Uganda Christian University and also serves as a visiting researcher at Mzumbe University in Tanzania under the ICP CONNECT programme “Towards Multi-Perspective and Inclusive M&E”.

Together with Prof. Nathalie Holvoet and Dr. Sara Dewachter, he co-organized short evaluation capacity-building seminars for evaluators from national VOPEs in Uganda and Tanzania in 2023 & 2025, respectively.

His research focuses on citizen participation in M&E, gender, social capital, Artificial Intelligence (AI) in M&E, and local institutions. He is currently studying community-based monitoring and citizen science initiatives in Tanzania, Uganda, and Belgium. Solomon is also working with Prof. Nathalie Holvoet, Dr. Sara Dewachter, Prof. Dr. Shyam Singh, and Prof. Dr. Asela Kalugampitiya to explore the use of AI in M&E in Africa and the Asia-Pacific regions.
