Elsa Klarich, born in St. Louis, MO, earned a B.S. in Aeronautics with an UAS specialization (emphasis on strategic intelligence) and a Global Studies minor from Liberty University. She is a multi-engine commercial, instrument-rated, tailwheel-endorsed FAA pilot and Part 107 remote pilot with extensive aviation and unmanned systems experience in humanitarian, conservation, and defense sectors. She has flown over four years of humanitarian bush flying missions in East Africa and worked as a wildlife conservationist for over three years. Elsa served as a UAV Instructor, Operator, and Maintainer on the Aerosonde platform, later deploying to Afghanistan for ISR missions. She’s trained USA and East African UAS professionals and held a U.S. Secret Clearance. Founder of Light and Earth, LLC, in the USA and Elsa Klarich Consulting in Tanzania. Elsa has consulted globally, including with the United Nations, WeRobotics, Drones Doing Good, Wings of Hope, and others. She’s led drone regulation and policy work across Africa and the Global South. She also works as a consultant developing UAS/ISR training and courses. Elsa founded Ashe Love Project, a 501c3 tax-exempt organization supporting families in East Africa through health, nutrition, and hygiene education, and resides in the USA and Tanzania.
