Navina Mutabazi is a feminist technologist with over 7 years of experience in managing projects at the intersection of data, digital technologies, and AI for social justice. She has worked and consulted for local and international NGOs where she champions community-centered digital innovations that improve access, equity, and outcomes for women, girls, and underserved communities across Africa.
Her leadership and impact in inclusive technology and ethical AI have won her several prestigious awards, including being selected a Global Data Values Advocate by the United Nations and a Mandela Washington Fellow for Young African Leaders by the U.S. Department of State, and her recent milestone includes being appointed the youngest jury member to review digital and AI innovations at the Global Digital Tech Competition hosted by the Salzburg Research Institute in Austria
Navina is also a digital edu- content creator, using the Swahili language to bridge AI literacy gaps amongst Tanzanians by reaching more than 500,000 internet users with short-form videos on Instagram and TikTok.
