Aurelia Miheso is a Technology and Human Rights Officer at Amnesty International Kenya, where she leads the design and implementation of programmes at the intersection of digital rights, data governance and human rights advocacy. Aurelia brings a rare combination of financial discipline, project management rigour and policy insight to her work driving both the strategic direction and the practical execution of Amnesty Kenya’s Data Governance Program. Aurelia has played a central role in convening regulators, civil society and technical experts through platforms such as the Data Governance CafĂ©, and in equipping CSOs across Kenya with practical tools to meet their obligations under the Data Protection Act, 2019.
Her work spans the full lifecycle of programme delivery: from budget management and operational coordination to stakeholder engagement, policy analysis and capacity building for civil society organisations navigating Kenya’s evolving data protection landscape. Aurelia is known for her ability to translate complex regulatory and technical concepts into actionable guidance making her a trusted voice for organisations seeking to align their data practices with both legal compliance and human rights principles.
