George Dralagar is the Director of Programs at Youth Voices Community, based in Nairobi, Kenya. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science with a major in Political Science and a minor in Sociology. As a researcher and youth advocate, George is committed to empowering young people, refugee youth and fostering community development. In addition to his advocacy work, he is also a skilled web developer.
At Youth Voices Community, George oversees YVC digital livelihood program, DIGIKAZI/ Digital Work, Digital Livelihood program which empowers refugee youth through computer literacy, digital skills training in Coding and web development. He participated in a 10-week onsite web development Bootcamp by Glad Technology, further enhancing his experience. George champions digital livelihood initiatives for youth and refugees, striving for an inclusive digital future amidst the digital divide.
He has supported the Wakimbizi Data-Driven Campaign, addressing refugee challenges faced by refugees, related to ID and documentation, inclusive education economy. George is also actively involved in initiatives supporting refugee socioeconomic integration and self-reliance in Kenya, fostering peace and collaborating on events like the Kumbatia Afrika Peace Festival powered by YVC and AGMA.
