Gilbert Beyamba

Director of Programs, Pollicy

Gilbert is an accomplished organisational development specialist, communication analyst, critical thinker, and innovator. In the past, he has designed, implemented, monitored, and evaluated initiatives, innovations, and leadership campaigns for young and emerging entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders including marginalised groups like youth in refrigerate and host communities and persons with disabilities. In addition, he has led campaigns for young and emerging entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders.

He is currently the Director of Programs at Pollicy, a Uganda-based feminist collective of technologists, data scientists, creatives, and academics working at the intersection of data, design, and technology in Sub-Saharan Africa where is leading a team and researchers across Africa providing modern day tech, data and policy alternatives for Africa with a focus on women inclusion.

Previously, he worked with Unreasonable East Africa (Currently Shona), a collective that was supporting entrepreneurs tackling problems like the lack of access to energy and getting them the knowledge, resources and tools that they need to create progress to our world’s needs. He also worked with Mara Foundation, a Pan African social enterprise that focuses on encouraging and supporting entrepreneurs, with a particular focus on young entrepreneurs and women entrepreneurs and Reach A Hand Uganda, a leading youth led organisation providing innovative solutions to young people’s access to youth friendly Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights information and services.
