Martha Iyambo is a Research Consultant at MK Legal Consultancy (Pty) Ltd in South Africa. she holds a BSc, BSc (Hons), and MSc from Rhodes University, South Africa. As the lead researcher, her work focuses primarily on AI research and policy development within the African context. She has co-authored several papers examining the intersection of artificial intelligence, innovation, and digital governance in Africa. She serves as the implementing partner lead for the Africa Privacy Roundup Project, a Pan-African initiative dedicated to data protection, AI governance, and cybersecurity. Through this role, she advances Africa’s voice in global digital policy and IP discourse; she is also a 2026 Techforward Policy Fellow.
