Patrick Godi is a progressive South Sudanese Writer, Arts curator, Activist, Legal scholar, Researcher, and a Youth, Peace and Security practitioner. He is the Youth Representative at the Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (RJMEC) – the body overseeing the implementation of South Sudan’s 2018 peace accord. He has worked across communities across the country helping cofound initiatives with civil society and grassroot actors working on Governance, Peace, Security and Climate Change for positive, sustainable difference through advocacy and development intervention. In 2022, Godi founded the Forum for Policy Dialogue and Democracy – a democratic initiative anchored on policy dialogue to further Peace, Development, and Good Governance including Climate Change, Environment and Natural Resources. Patrick is passionate about challenging the lack of political will and investment into youth development and is keen to work with others to make sure the challenges facing youth get attention in decision making. He explores through research the barriers and demonstrates how meaningful partnerships can be formed to advance young people as transformative agents of change, peace and prosperity.

Patrick is an experienced youth leader and fellow who serves on a number of continental and global Youth initiatives and movements, including the Now Generation Network, Common Futures Conversations, African Youth Networks Movement, – all curated by some of the leading thought leaders and institutions in the World with focus on harnessing youth agency. He is also an influential leader Youth Leader in South Sudan committed to promoting a healthy planet and societies that are safe and just, and that are based on the protection of all human rights, as well as on non-discrimination, respect for diversity, security and participation of all people, including disadvantaged and vulnerable groups.
