Queenter is an award-winning multimedia journalist, mentor, and certified media trainer. Her expertise spans sustainable journalism, gender-sensitive storytelling, amplifying the voices of marginalized groups and is a celebrated advocate for gender equality.

With over 12 years in media management across Kenya, Tanzania, and Africa, Queenter has held prominent editorial positions at The Standard Group PLC, Mwananchi Communications LTD, and Bang! Magazine. She has demonstrably championed gender equality throughout her career, establishing a Gender Desk, revamping anti-sexual harassment policies, and launching innovative mentorship programs.

Queenter’s dedication extends beyond the newsroom. She sits on numerous boards, including the Kigali Declaration Advisory Committee and the African Women in Media/Luminate Women in Politics Project.  She is also a founding member and current Board Chair of The Standard Group Women Network and a member of the Kenya Editors’ Guild Strategy Committee.

As an alumnus of Moi University, the prestigious WAN-IFRA WIN Leadership Accelerator Programme, and a founding member of the Woman Kenya Network (WOKN), Queenter possesses a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing women in media.
