Zukiswa Kota is a Director of Programmes at the Civic Tech Innovation Network (CTIN) based at Wits University in South Africa. She has sixteen years’ experience working in the civil society sector with a particular focus on initiatives aimed at strengthening governance and inclusive democracy. She works in a regional and international context to promote fiscal transparency, open government, digital democracy and anti-corruption initiatives. Zukiswa currently serves on the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Steering Committee. She is passionate about safeguarding civic space and promoting public participation. Her work to foster partnerships has included building and nurturing diverse stakeholder relationships. Zukiswa serves on the Board of Corruption Watch (a Transparency international chapter) and is a founding Chairperson of the Budget Justice Coalition and a member of South Africa’s Procurement Reform Working Group which have sought to deepen civil society engagement with public finances and procurement respectively.
